JV Mules vs. Seagraves

The JV Mules 41-20 win over
the Seagraves Eagles proved to be a much more exciting game than the final score
indicated. The score was tied at 20-20 with just over one and half minutes
remaining in the game. The Mules scored three touchdowns in the final 96
seconds.
The Mules drove 75 yards to
score and take a 26-20 lead with 1:36 left on the clock. The Mule defense took
over after that. Tim Perez returned an Eagle fumble 36 yards for a touchdown
and JoJo Rejino ended all scoring with TD on a two-yard fumble recovery.
The Mules had a total of 295
yards of offense with 44 coming on the ground. Joe Waggoner rushed five times
for 17 yards, Issac Mendoza carried twice for 13 and Tim Perez ran four times
for 10 yards.
Brenden Mehl completed 18 of
22 passing attempts for 295 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions and
rushed once for four yards.
I. Mendoza made 10 receptions
for 170 yards and three touchdowns. Sergio Solano caught two passes for 28
yards and Michael Lozano had two catches for 22 yards and a TD. Perez made two
receptions for 17 yards and Jacob Kettner caught two passes for eight yards.
Waggoner led the Mules on
defense with 10 tackles. Perez finished with eight tackles, one interception
for a TD, broke up a pass and a sack. Miguel Lucas had six tackles, Fidel
Mendoza also made six tackles and Zack Atwood finished with five stops.
Josh Torres recorded five
tackles. I. Mendoza made four stops and caused a fumble. Rejino made two
tackles and recovered a fumble for a touchdown.
The Mules will make the long
trip to Perryton to play the Rangers Thursday afternoon.
