JV Mules vs. Levelland

The JV Mules utilized a
balanced offense and stifling defense to defeat the Levelland Lobos 14-6 in the
season opener. The Mules proved to be unruly guests on the Lobo turf.
Jimmy Villa connected on six
of 13 pass attempts for 112 yards. He also rushed 16 times for 94 yards and
rushed for one touchdown. Nick Dominguez carried five times for six yards and scored
a two-point conversion. He also caught one pass for 15 yards.
Jose Cardenas made one
reception for 40 yards. Adrian Bustillos made four catches for 57 yards.
Josh Torres recorded two
quarterback sacks, made five tackles, and forced one fumble. Jose Quintana made
seven tackles and recovered a fumble for a touchdown. Kynton Haseloff and Rigo
Mendoza led the Mule defense with 10 tackles each.
Cristian Bustillos made seven
tackles and intercepted one pass. A. Bustillos recorded three tackles and intercepted
one pass. Derek Barron made five tackles.
The JV Mules will open their
home schedule Thursday evening when they host the Snyder Tigers at 6:30
PM.
