Lubbock Cross-Country Meet (9-27-14)
Only the Lady Mule and Mule varsity runners competed
in the Lubbock Cross-Country Meet on the Mae Simmons Park Course Saturday
morning. It was a small group of runners from Muleshoe compared to most of the
meets in which they compete.
Mireya Ruvulcaba finished 30th in the girls
division with a time of 13 minutes and 47 seconds.
“She gets stronger every meet and continues to be a
leader for this young ladies team,” said Muleshoe cross-country coach, Edie
Niblett.
Evan Paez added to his medal count this year by
placing 13th in the boys division with a time of 17:48.
“With all the rain that Lubbock has had, the course
was really in pretty good shape,” continued Niblett. “We will run again in
Lubbock at the district meet October 20th. Our next meet is in
Sundown October fourth and we hope to get a good look at our district
competition. Today was a great day to be a Mule.”
