MHS Tennis @ Levelland SPCHEA
The Muleshoe High School
Tennis Team competed in Levelland at the SPCHEA Tennis Tournament on Thursday. Muleshoe
had 36 participants and they played a total of 65 matches. The Muleshoe team
brought home twelve medals.
Denisse Ramirez placed third in Division A Girls Singles. She lost 9-7 to SPCHEA and 2-8 to Littlefield. Ramirez defeated and unknown opponent 6-4. Cassidy Cage lost 2-8 to Plainview, 8-4 to Friona and 4-6 to Olton.
Girls Doubles
Gloria Gonzalez and Imelda Salcido lost in Division A Girls Doubles 2-8 to SPCHEA and 4-8 to Plainview JV. Marissa Reyes and Jasmine Garza fell 1-8 to Kingdom Prep and 5-8 to Olton. Hallie Myatt and Dezzy Gutierrez defeated O'Donnell 8-6 before losing 0-8 to Denver City.

The Division A Mixed Doubles team of Zoey Apodaca and Kevin Mendoza brought home the consolation medal. They lost 8-9 to SPCHEA but bounced back to defeat Slaton 8-4 and Floydada 8-4.
The Mules took the top two spots in Division B Boys Singles. Raul Sierra won the gold medal by defeating Tulia 8-6, Hart 8-1 and Friona6-2. Ean Hasley earned the silver medal with wins of 8-3 over Tulia, 8-4 over Denver City before losing 5-7 to Sudan.
Corbin Hardwick defeated Sudan 8-0 before losing 6-8 to an unknown opponent. Isaac Mendoza lost 5-8 to Motley County, defeated Sudan 8-6 before falling 6-8 to Denver City.
Sophia Sianez won consolation in the Division B Girls Singles. She lost 6-8 to Denver City, had a forfeit by Christ the King and had a win of 6-0 over Tulia. Brianna Barron had a win of 8-1 over Denver City, a loss of 1-8 to Lubbock and defeated Littlefield6-0.
Natalie Diaz took a forfeit from Roosevelt but lost 0-8 to Hereford and 3-6 to an unknown opponent. Laura Chavez fell 1-8 to Hart, defeated Motley County 6-2 before falling 4-6 to Roosevelt.
The Division Boys Doubles
team of Kobe Gutierrez and Kevin Chavez won the bronze medal. They defeated Slaton
8-2 but fell 6-8 to Olton. They bounced back with an 8-7 win over SPCHEA. The
team of Ethan Gonzalez and Ricardo Torres had a win of 8-1 over Tulia and 8-3
over Seagraves before falling 1-6 to SPCHEA. Evan Paez and Mario Flores lost
1-8 to Sudan and 4-6 to Tulia.
The Division B Girls Doubles team of Anghy Avilez and Xiomara Regalado won third place with a win of 8-2 over Slaton and lost 2-8 to Loop. They came back with a 6-1 win over Friona.

Conley Niblett fell 6-8 to Seagraves but came back with wins of 6-1 over Olton
and 6-1 over Slaton for consolation. Noemi Herrera and Jackie Rayas lost 8-9 to
Friona but came back with wins of 8-4
over Christ the King and 7-5 over Spearman for consolation.
The Muleshoe Division B Mixed Doubles took all three top places. The team of Rachelle Whitworth and Izaiah Perez had wins of 8-5 over Roosevelt, 8-4 over Littlefield and 6-2 over Denver City for the gold medal.

Erika Arzola and Jesse
Easiley defeated Sudan 8-3 but came back with wins of 9-8 over SPCHEA and 8-3
over Olton. They lost 2-8 to Sudan for the silver medal. Alee Sanchez and Aron
Chacon won the bronze medal with wins of 8-1 over Loop, lost 8-9 to Sudan and
came back with a win of 8-2 over Olton.
The
next tournament for Muleshoe is March 3 in
