District Golf Results (4-9-2015)
Conner
Harrison is the boy’s 2015 District Golf 2-3A Gold Medalist and qualified for
the Region I Tournament. He matched his first round score with an 80 in the
second round for a total of 160 strokes. Harrison won the gold medal by five
shots. This is back-to-back district championships for him and he is classified
as a junior.
The
Mules did not have enough players to compete as a team but Dustin Stearmer shot
a second round total of 121. Jesse Leal finished the second day by shooting a
122.
The
Lady Mules won the team silver medal with a two day total of 898 strokes to
qualify for the Regional Tournament. Sadie Sudduth led the Lady Mules and won
silver as a medalist with a total of 204 strokes. She had a 101 strokes in the
first round and shot a second round 103.
Sydnie
Sudduth was just out of the medals and placed fourth with total of 221 strokes.
She shot a 112 the first day and improved with a 109 strokes on her home
course.
Miranda
De Bruin finished seventh with 232 strokes. She shot a first round total of 122
but improved at home with a round of 110 strokes. Gabby Chavez shot a first
round 126 and improved with a second round of 115 strokes for a total of 241.
“The
kids did a great job and we are excited to go and compete at the Region I
Tournament,” said Muleshoe High School golf coach Carey Sudduth.
The
Region I Tournament will be held on the Shady Oaks Country Club in Baird.
Harrison will played April 13 and April 14. The Lady Mules will take the course
April 15 and April 16.
