JV Mules Track @ District (4-17-2015)
The JV Mules out ran the competition at the District 2-3A
Track Meet for the District Championship with a total of 179.333 points.
Shallowater, Dimmitt, Littlefield, Tulia and Friona finished behind the Mules.
Mike Lozano got the Mules started with
a silver medal leap of five feet four inches in the high jump. Isaac Mendoza
won the bronze medal with a height of 5-2 and Tim Perez placed fourth with a
leap of 5-0.
Jacob Kettner earned the silver
medal in the 3200-meter run with a time of 11 minutes and 56.31 seconds. Jason
Florez won the Mules first gold medal of the day with a hopped, skipped and
jumped a distance of 36-08.50 in the triple jump. Mike Lozano took the bronze
medal in the triple jump with a distance of 35-07.00 and Isaac Mendoza placed
fourth with a distance of 35-06.00.
The 4x100-meter relay team of Bryce
Mauricio, Felipe Guerrero, Florez and T. Perez won the gold medal with a time
of 46.43. Lozano topped the platform in the 800-meter run with a gold medal
time of 2:16.90.
Dylan Miller won the 110-meter
hurdles with a gold medal time of 17.83 and Joe Waggoner finished fourth with
an 18.22. Mauricio ran a bronze medal time of 11.90 in the 100-meter dash. The
4x200-meter gold medal relay team of Mauricio, Mendoza, Florez and T. Perez ran
a time of 1:39.52.
Javy Perez placed fifth in the
400-meter dash with a time of 58.37. Joe Waggoner won the gold medal in the
300-meter hurdles with a time of 45.50. The bronze medal went to Dylan Miller with
a 46.09 and Matt Flores finished fourth with a 46.84.
Guerrero won the gold medal in
the 200-meter dash with a 24.24. T. Perez placed fourth in the 200-meter dash
with a 24.56 and Isaac Mendoza finished sixth with a 24.78. Kettner won his
second silver medal of the meet with a time of 5:23.69 in the 1600-meter run. Lozano
placed fourth in the 1600 with a 5:38.34.
The Mules took silver in the
final race of the day. The 4x400-meter relay team of Guerrero, Mendoza, Florez
and J. Perez ran a time of 3:46.31 to secure the team gold for the Mules.
