The eighth grade Lady
Mules won team silver in the District 2-3A Track Meet with a score of 171
points. Shallowater won the meet and Littlefield, Tulia, Friona and Dimmitt
trailed the Lady Mules.
Mia’Kayla Reyna placed
fourth in the shot put with a toss of 30 feet 11.50 inches. Keely Dunham had a
gold medal throw of 83-06 in the discus.
Liliana Martinez won the
gold medal in the first race of the day. She had a time of nine minutes 18.94
seconds in the 2400-meter run. Alejandro Castillo was right behind her for the
silver medal with a 10:08.72 and Jennifer Cervantes placed fourth with a
10:55.22.
Kayla Torres placed
fourth in the high jump with a leap of 4-04. Citlalli Vargas placed sixth in
the long jump with a leap of 13-03.75. Vargas also placed sixth in the triple
jump with a distance of 27-04.00.
Vargas, Kyndal Miller,
Natali Elizalde and Dunham teamed up to won the gold medal in the 4x100-meter
relay with a time of 54.22. Alyssa Wheeler ran a silver medal time of 2:49.50
in the 800-meter run and Mona Mendoza was close behind for the bronze medal
with a 2:49.74.
Torres won the bronze
medal in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 19.25. Elizalde earned the silver
medal in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.34. The 4x200-meter relay team of
Vargas, Dunham, Wheeler and Reina Regalado ran a silver medal time of 1:58.01.
Miller made one lap of
the track for the silver medal in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:03.84.
Maddison Hasley placed sixth in the 400-meter dash with a 1:14.30. Torres
finished second with a silver medal time of 56.09 in the 300-meter hurdles.
Regalado finished fourth
and Vargas was fifth in the 200-meter dash with times of 29.00 and 29.75
respectively. Martinez ran a gold medal time of 5:45.28 in the 1600-meter run
and Cervantes placed fourth with a 6:38.19.
Dunham, Elizalde,
Regalado and Miller won the Lady Mules final gold medal of the day in the
4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:23.87.
