8th Lady Mules vs. Dimmitt. (11-21-2016)
The eighth-grade Lady Mules bounced the Dimmitt Bobbies out of the gym
Monday evening 38-13. The Lady Mules rolled up an 11-2 lead in the first period
and led 22-7 at the intermission.
Anahi Barrera led the charge for the Lady Mules with a game-high 17 points.
Danielle Moran finished with seven points. Grace Leal, Katelyn Kelley, and Tatum
Hasley made four points each. Destiny Florez chipped in two points near the end
of the game.
“This was a good way to end before Thanksgiving break,” said Lady Mule
coach, Jalissa King. “We had strong support from several girls on our
team.”
“Anahi Barrera and Tatum Hasley each had eight rebounds. Carina Sianez
added five rebounds, and Barrera made seven assists and six steals. It was a
great team effort.”
The eighth-grade B-Team Lady Mules kept their record perfect at 3-0 by
defeating the Dimmitt Bobbies 33-5. The Lady Mules outscored Dimmitt in every
period of the game.
Clara Vara led the charge for the Lady Mules with 12 points. Heather Chavez
and Anzley Rodriguez dropped in six points each.
“These ladies played a great game,” continued Coach King. “They worked hard
on the aspects of the of the game we have been emphasizing in practice, and it
paid off tonight.”
The Lady Mules hosted the Slaton Tigerettes Monday and will compete in the
Lamesa Tournament December first and third. The Lady Mules will host the Friona
Maidens December 5.
