9th Mules vs. Littlefield (10-27-2016)
The freshmen Mules locked down the Littlefield Wildcats scoring
after just one period after Littlefield scored the Wildcats’ only
touchdown. The Mules rolled on for a 26-6 win over the Wildcats.
The Mules scored twice in the first period to lead the Wildcats
12-6. The Mules held that lead until the third period when they added
another touchdown. The Mules scored one final time in the fourth period
with a defensive touchdown.
Matthew Alarcon completed nine of 23 passes for 111 yards and one
touchdown. Alarcon rushed 12 times for 57 yards and two touchdowns.
Jesus Montiel carried 10 times for 37 yards and he caught two
passes for 20 yards. Jose Cardenas made two receptions for 48 yards and
one touchdown. Jimmy Villa had three catches for 38 yards and one
two-point conversion.
The Mules rushed 22 times for 94 yards and two touchdowns. They
passed for 111 yards and one touchdown for a total of 205 yards.
Damian Juarez led the Mule defense with six tackles. Jesus Montiel
made four stops as did Eddie Vasquez. Kelan Florez recorded three
tackles and Elio Sanchez had three tackles. Matthew Alarcon and Jose
Cardenas made two tackles each.
Eddie Vasquez caused a fumble in the fourth period. Jose Cardenas
scooped up the loose ball and raced 38 yards for a defensive touchdown
in the final quarter.
The Mules will host the Shallowater Mustangs Thursday in the final game of the season.
