Mule Track @ Shallowater (3-8-2018)
The Mule track team competed in the Shallowater
Mustang Meet Thursday afternoon and placed fourth with 89 points. Shallowater
won the meet with 168 points, New Deal was second 147, and Idalou placed third
with 109. Post finished fifth with 77 points, and
Littlefield was sixth with 16.
Ethan Gonzales won the bronze medal in the first
race of the day. He finished with a time of 11 minutes and 34.56 seconds in the
3200-meter run. Carlos Meza had a bronze medal throw in the discus of 125 feet
and three inches.
Isaac Mendoza made a bronze medal leap of 6-00.00 in
the high jump. Kynton Haseloff placed fourth in the triple jump with a distance
of 40-00.00. Fed Rivas placed fifth in the shot put with a toss of 39-04.00.
Matthew Olivas took sixth place in the same event with a throw of 39-01.00.
Jesus Montiel placed fifth in the pole vault by clearing 11-00.00.
Romeo Reyes won the gold medal in the 200-meter dash
with a time of 23.09. Luke Del Toro placed sixth in the 400-meter run with a
56.21. Michael Lozano earned the bronze medal with a time of 2:10.06 in the
800-meter run.
Ean Hasley placed sixth in the 110-meter hurdles
with a time of 18.84. Haseloff placed fifth in the 300-meter hurdles with a
time of 46.96, and Jesus Montiel ran
sixth with a 47.02.
The 4x200-meter relay team of Montiel, R. Reyes,
Lozano, and Yoel Reyes won the bronze medals with a time of 1:35.00. Gonzales
earned the silver medal in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:08.06. Ricky
Diaz was four steps back for the bronze medal with a time of 5:12.58.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Del Toro, R. Reyes, Y.
Reyes and Lozano ran a bronze medal time of 3:35.41 in the final race of the
day.
The Mules will run next in the Dimmitt Bobcat Meet
March 23.
