The Muleshoe junior high Lady
Mules and Mules ran in Amarillo a week ago and in Sundown this past Saturday.
No team placing were awarded at the very large Amarillo meet.
Anahi Barrera paced the Lady
Mules with a ninth place finish with a time of 14 minutes and 29.1 seconds.
Other Lady Mules competing at Amarillo were Grace Leal, Anzley Rodriguez,
Valeria Carreaga, Tatum Hasley, Kristina Arzola, Daizy Montiel, Val Toscano and
Danielle Moran.
Damian Juarez received a
third place medal in Amarillo with a time of 11:39.00. Ricky Diaz contributed
with tenth place and Beto Mendoza finished thirteenth. The other Mules running
were Jacob Barron, Carlos Lecea, Alberto Orozco, Matthew Fullen, Jordan Spears
and Micah Rodriguez.
This past Saturday the Lady
Mule placed second in the Sundown Cross-Country Meet with only the host team
placing higher. Barrera won the third place medal with a time of 14:21.24.
A. Rodriguez finished
fourteenth and Joceline Ramirez was fifteenth to contribute to the win. The
balance of the team included Carreaga, Arzola, Montiel, Moran and Didi
Esquival.
The Mules were third in the
Sundown Meet and were led by Mendoza with his individual third place finish
with a time of 12:58.25. Diaz was close behind in fourth place with a 13:00.42.
Juarez and Barron also received medals for fourteenth and fifteenth places. The
other Mules competing were Orozco, Spears and M. Rodriguez.
The final warm up meet is
Saturday in Abernathy. The District 2-3A Meet is scheduled for October 19 on
Lubbock’s Mae Simmons Park course.
