The Mules hosted the Mule
relays Friday afternoon and placed third with 116 points. Also running in the
Mule Relays was Seminole, Brownfield, Littlefield, Dimmitt and Slaton.
Cesar Olvera won the silver
medals in both the shot put and discus. He heaved the shot 39 feet eight inches
and threw the discus 124-01 for his second medal. Jesse Leal earned the gold medal
in the pole vault with a winning vault of 10-06.
Aaryn Ross earned the silver
medal in the high jump by clearing 5-10 and Danny Campos placed fourth with a
jump of 5-06. The 4x100-meter relay team of Evan Paez, Yoel Reyes, Tre Villa
and Beto Diaz won the bronze medal with a time of 45.4 seconds.
Mikey Lozano placed fourth in
the 800-meter run with a time of 2:10.00 and Mario Flores was a step behind for
fifth place with a 2:11.00. Diaz won the silver medal in the 100-meter dash
with a time of 11.50.00 and Paez placed sixth with a time of 12.02.
The 4x200-meter relay team of
Reyes, Villa, Diaz and Ross won the bronze medal with a time of 1:34.40. Jesse
Easley finished fourth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 47.12.
Ross won the silver medal in
the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.50 and Reyes took the bronze medal with a
23.90. Paez won the silver medal in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:00.00
and Florez placed fifth with a 5:09.00.
The 4x400-meter relay team of
Villa, Dagen Dunham, Lozano and Ross earned the bronze medal with a time of
3:37.20.
The Mules will compete in the
district meet April 15 on the Tulia Hornet track.
