Jr High Cross-Country Meet (10-20-2014)
The Junior High Lady Mules won the District 2-3A Cross-Country
Championship with a total of 33 points. Liliana Martinez led the Lady Mules
around the two-mile Mae Simmons Park Course in Lubbock Monday afternoon. She
won the individual gold medal and is now the two-time District 2-3A Individual
Champion.
Joceline Ramirez finished fourth, Reina Regalado took eighth place and Alejandra Castillo placed eleventh. Valeria Carreaga, Natalie Diaz, Mercy Manzanales, Adriana Mora, Kinsey Parker, Mia Reyna, Anahi Sandoval, Val Toscano, Citlalli Vargas, Perla Vasquez, Jailyn Vidana, Chloe Villa and Alyssa Wheeler also competed for the Lady Mules.
The Mules also took the District 2-3A Championship
with a total of 21 points. Jose Nava led the Mules on the three-mile course and
won the individual silver medal. Ean Hasley took the bronze medal and Eduardo
Pantoja finished fourth.
Damian Juarez was close behind for fifth place, Ethan
Gonzales ran eighth and Beto Mendoza finished tenth. Jesus Montiel, Ricky Diaz,
Luke Leal, Jacob Barron, Matt Fullen, Keaton Myers and Julian Elizalde also
competed for the Mules.
“Our athletes have put in many hours and worked
incredibly hard this year,” said Muleshoe Junior High coach Jalissa King. “It
feels fantastic to bring home both District Championships as well as these
individual accolades. We are celebrating all of their hard work. It truly is a
great day to be Mules and Lady Mules!”
