JV Mules @ District Track

The JV Mules won the District
Track Meet to become the District Champions with 176 points. Shallowater was
second with 172 points, Littlefield placed third with 103 points, Tulia
finished fourth with 89 points, Dimmitt took fifth with 36 points and Friona
placed sixth with 28 points.
Jorge Albarran got the Mules
off to a fast start by winning the gold medal in the high jump by clearing five
feet four inches. Isaac Mendoza made a silver medal leap of 5-02 in the same
event.
Eduardo Pantoja won the first
race of the meet for the gold medal in the 3200-meter run with a time of eleven
minutes 37.81 seconds. Dominik Hasley had a gold medal throw in the discus of
106-03.50. Julian Astorga placed fourth in the discus with a throw of 97-07.
Matthew Olivas made a gold
medal heave in the shot put of 34-04.50. Ean Hasley won the gold medal in the
pole vault by clearing 10-06. Justin Carrion leaped 17-02.00 in the long jump
to place fourth. Ryan Rodriguez finished sixth in the same event with a leap of
16-09.50.
The 4x100-meter relay team of
Izaiah Hurtado, Albarran, Justin Carrion and Rodriguez ran a gold medal time of
46.42. Hasley won his second gold medal in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of
18.03 and Corbin Hardwick ran a bronze medal time of 19.14.
Rodriguez placed fifth in the
100-meter dash with a time of 11.94 and Hurtado finished sixth with an 11.98.
Carrion, Luke Del Toro, Mendoza and Albarran won the 4x200-meter relay with a
gold medal time of 1:38.82.
Hasley ran a silver medal
time of 47.91 in the 300-meter hurdles. Hardwick won the bronze medal with a
time of 49.00 and Jacob DeLeon placed fourth with a time of 50.20. Carrion won
the bronze medal in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.46 and Albarran placed
fourth with a 24.53.
Pantoja was back on top of
the winners stand with a gold medal time of 5:18.50 in the 1600-meter run. Del
Toro, Mendoza, Hasley and Hurtado finished the meet with a 4x400-meter relay
time of 3:56.81 for the bronze medal.
