Muleshoe Track @ Region I Meet
(4-29&30-2016)
“Well, our athletes wrapped
up their track season this weekend at the Region I Meet in Abilene,” said Mule
track coach Wes Wood. “They represented Muleshoe extremely well. It is pretty
amazing watching how we compete, especially against the level of competition
that we saw. We should all be super proud of our Mules and Lady Mules.”
None of the Lady Mules or
Mules will be advancing to the Texas State Meet in Austin but the Mules did
score points in three events and were in the top eight places in one.
Aaryn Ross led the Mules with
a fourth place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.60 seconds. Ross
took fifth in the high jump by clearing a height of five feet 10 inches. Joe
Waggoner placed sixth in the pole vault with a height of 12-6.
Evan Paez ran a personal best
time of 4:46.30 in the 1600-meter run to place eighth. The 4x200-meter relay
team of Beto Diaz, Dagen Dunham, Danny Campos and Ross finished seventh with a
time of 1:32.14.
None of the Lady Mules made
the finals at the Region I Meet.
“Coach (John) Jay and I want
to thank all the Lady Mule and Mule fans for their support during track season,”
continued Wood. “It makes a real difference for our athletes.”
