7th Lady Mules vs. Littlefield (1-9-2017)
The seventh-grade Lady Mules held the Littlefield Lady Cats scoreless Monday night and rolled onto a 34-12 win over Littlefield.
Paige Parker got the Lady Mules started by making a pair of free throws after being fouled on a layup attempt. She later utilized an assist from Natalie Ambriz on a fast break for a hoop.
Ambriz chipped in a free throw and finished the quarter with a basket. The Lady Mules led 7-0 after one quarter.
Genesis Vasquez scored her first hoop of the second quarter near the middle of the period. She had added a second basket before the quarter ended. Parker had finished a fast break before the half ended. The Lady Mules led 13-4 at the intermission.
The Lady Mules exploded for 12 points in the third quarter. Ambriz led the charge for the Lady Mules with three baskets and a free throw. Kayla Soto made a steal and drove to the hoop for a basket. She was fouled while shooting and completed the three-point play by converting the free throw. Parker made a short jump shot to end the quarter with the Lady Mules leading 25-7.
Ambriz started the final quarter with a basket and then stole the Littlefield inbounds pass and made the layup. Parker sank a 3-pointer from near the baseline and finished the quarter with a hoop.
Ambriz led the Lady Mules with 14 points. Parker finished the game with 13 points. Vasquez made all four of her points in the second period, and Soto made all three of her points in the third quarter.
The Lady Mules traveled to Idalou Monday afternoon and stay on the road to Dimmitt January 23. The Lady Mules return home for one final game January 30 when they host the Slaton Tigerettes.
