JV Lady Mules @ District Track Meet (4-4&5-2017)
The JV Lady Mules won the District 2-3A Track Meet with 130 points at the Lubbock Cooper Track this past week.
Alyssa Wheeler won the bronze medal in the first race of the day with a time of 15 minutes and 35.41 in the 3200-meter run. Destiny Vazquez was just behind in fourth place with a time of 16:59.47.
Noa Rojas took the bronze medal in the shot put with a toss of 25 feet and 5.75 inches. Lourdes Escalantos placed fourth with a throw of 22-00.75. Aurora Quezada placed sixth in the discus with a distance of 68-08.
Alexis Campos won the silver medal in the long jump with a leap of 14-00.25. Citaili Vargas finished fourth in the same event with a leap of 13-00.00. Kayla Torres won the gold medal in the high jump by clearing 4-00.00.
Campos earned the gold medal in the triple jump with a total distance of 30-04.00. Vargas took the silver medal in the same event with a distance of 29-07.50.
The 4x100-meter relay team of Madison Hasley, Didi Esquivel, Val Toscano and Valeria Carreaga placed fourth with a time of 59.28.
Joceline Ramirez won the silver medal in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:56.46. Wheeler was just steps behind for the bronze medal with a time of 3:01.59. Escalantos placed seventh with a time of 3:19.45.
Torres, Lilianna Barrera, and Vargas placed fourth, fifth, and sixth respectively in the 100-meter hurdles with times of 20.28, 20.83, and 21.39.
Campos won the silver medal in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:15.46. Aurora Quezada placed fourth, and Maddison Price finished seventh with times of 1:16.71 and 1:20.95 respectively.
Vargas earned the bronze medal in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 57.31 and Torres placed sixth with a time of 1:01.48. Hasley placed fourth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 30.41. Wheeler won the bronze medal in the 1600-meter run with a time of 6:49.45.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Esmerelda Aleman, Toscano, Ramirez, and Carreaga won the silver medal in the final race of the day with a time of 4:44.49.
The JV Lady Mules will now begin their off-season workouts.
