MHS Golf @ Amarillo (3-24-2017)
The Muleshoe High School golf teams competed Thursday at the Holy Cross Invitational Tournament held on the Comanche Trails Golf Course in Amarillo. The Lady Mules placed second as a team while the Mules finished fourth.
Sadie Sudduth led the Lady Mules and finished the course in 96 strokes. She placed second as an individual. Sydnie Sudduth finished with a score of 115 and Emily Precure was three shots behind with 118 shots. Yvonne Diaz shot 130, and Leti Loya finished with a 134.
Kiarra Regalado and Adrianna Mora competed as individual medalist with rounds of 137 and 141 shots respectively.
Wyatt Parker led the Mules with a score 93 shots, Ricky Diaz shot an even 100, Jason Florez finished with a 103 and Brendon Rodriguez fired a 126.
“Both teams played very well in the Holy Cross Tournament,” said Mule golf coach Steven Butler. “I was very proud of how the athletes competed with the wind and a very tough course.”
The first District 2-3A Tournament was held Monday, March 27, at the Plainview Country Club. The second round of district competition will be the following Monday, April 3, at the Meadowbrook Golf Course.
