Lady Mules @ District Track. Meet (4-4&5-2017)
The Lady Mules placed fourth in the District 2-3A Track Meet at the Lubbock Cooper track. The Lady Mules will send 10 athletes to the Area Meet Thursday, April 13, at the Tulia High School track in seven events.
Athletes advance to the Area Meet by placing in the top four spots in each event.
Lilana Martinez finished fifth in the 3200-meter run with a time of 13 minutes 42.05 seconds. Sophie Reyna was the first Lady Mule to qualify for Area with a toss of 32 feet and nine inches in the shot put.
Keely Dunham earned the Lady Mules’ first gold medal with a throw of 110-04 in the discus. Perla Vasquez placed sixth in the pole vault by clearing 6-00.
The 4x100-meter relay team of Brianna Barron, Dunham, Emili Mora, and Natali Elizalde placed fourth with a time of 53.10. Mireya won the silver medal in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:32.47.
Elizalde ran sixth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.79. The 4x200-meter relay team of Kyndal Miller, Joy Watts, Dunham and Ruvalcaba placed fourth with a time of 1:53.69. Dellany Martinez finished seventh in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 56.73.
L. Martinez won the bronze medal in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:54.55.
Miller, Watts, Ruvalcaba and Reina Regalado teamed up for the bronze medal in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:17.74.
Ruvalcaba, Reyna, Dunham, L. Martinez, Barron, Mora, Elizalde, Miller, Regalado, and Watts will continue to train for the Area Track Meet.
