Freshmen Mules vs. Levelland

The freshmen Mules hit the
road Thursday to open their 2017 football season in Levelland against the Lobos.
The Mules scored three touchdowns, and that proved to be enough to defeat the
Lobos 18-14.
The Mules scored one
touchdown in each of the first three-quarters for the win. Riley Kettner rushed
nine times for nine yards and one touchdown. He also completed 11 of 26 passes
for 157 yards and one touchdown.
Joey Martinez carried the
ball three times for 72 yards and one touchdown. He also caught four passes for
65 yards and one touchdown. Joe Gutierrez rushed seven times for 42 yards and
caught two passes for 29 yards.
Kurt Rodriguez made five
receptions for 55 yards. Eli Macias caught one pass for eight yards.
Gutierrez led the Mule
defense with seven tackles and recovered a fumble. Elias Aguirre made six
tackles and sacked the quarterback once. Enrique Toscano had four stops,
Martinez had four tackles and a sack.
K. Rodriguez had two stops
and made one interception. Jacob Rodriguez made two tackles and recorded one
sack. Matthew Fabela made one tackle and recovered a fumble.
The Mules will host the
Snyder Tigers Thursday afternoon at 5:00 PM.
