Mules vs. Lub Roosevelt

The Mules had little trouble
with the Lubbock Roosevelt Eagles Tuesday evening. Danny Campos scored 11 first
quarter points to jump start the Mules to a 72-33 win.
Donavan Gutierrez broke the
scoring ice for the Mules with a put back. Jesse Leal made a steal and drove
the floor for a hoop. Campos first points came on a put back and he was fouled.
He converted the three-point play.
Tony Vasquez drove the lane
for a hoop and then ripped off an Eagle and drove for another hoop that ended
the Mules 13-0 scoring run. The Eagles first hoop came with about five and half
minutes left in the first period.
Campos put back his own shot
and 15 seconds later scored again for a 19-2 Mule lead. The Eagles scored
back-to-back baskets before Kevin Mendoza drained a trey from the wing. Aaryn
Ross answered a Roosevelt hoop with a trey from the corner to end the first
period.
The Mules out scored the
Eagles 16-3 in the second period for a 41-11 lead at the intermission. Dagen
Dunham had sank back-to-back 3-pointers in the period.
The Mules increased their
lead to 58-17 in the third period.
Campos led the Mules with 22
points and Dunham scored 14. Vasquez added 10 points and Mendoza finished with
eight points. Javy Perez made seven points and Leal sank six points. Ross made
a trey for three points and Gutierrez chipped in two points.
