B-Team Mules vs. Idalou (9-22-2016)
Idalou returned the opening kickoff 88 yards for a score against the B-Team
Mules. Jacob Rodriguez almost returned the favor by returning the ensuing Idalou
kickoff 30 yards to the Wildcat 35.
The Mules gave up six more points in the first half to trail Idalou 12-0 at
the intermission. The Wildcats scored once in the second half to claim an 18-0
lead. The Mules then strung together an 62-yard drive for a touchdown to end the
game with Idalou leading the Mules 18-8.
Idalou kicked off to the Mule 27 and Richie Martinez returned the ball 35
yards to the Idalou 38.
Martinez broke just off his right tackle for 14 yards. Jacob Alfaro tossed
to David Bustillos in the left flat for 13 yards to the Idalou 12-yard line.
Martinez scooted wide right for six yards.
Alfaro passed into the end zone and the intended receiver tipped the ball
but could not make the catch. Drew Morris alertly made a dive to grab the ball
just off the turf for the Mules only touchdown. Alfaro rolled left and made the
swing pass to Martinez for the two-point conversion.
The Mules will travel to Olton to play the Mustangs Thursday, September 29
at 4:00 PM.
