JV Mules vs. Snyder (9-1-2016)
The JV Mules scored touchdowns in the second and fourth periods to defeat
the Snyder Tigers 14-0 Thursday evening in Snyder.
Luke Del Toro led the Mules by completing 12 of 21 pass attempts for 149
yards and threw one touchdown. He also rushed 10 times for 45 yards and one TD.
Ryan Rodriguez carried three times for 52 yards.
Sergio Solano made four receptions for 70 yards and Brady Martinez caught
four passes for 57 yards. JoJo Rejino made three catches for 21 yards and one
touchdown.
“It was tough for us to score,” said Mule coach John Jay. “But our defense
did a great job and held them out of the end zone.”
Raul Sierra made one interception and returned the ball 25 yards. Martinez
forced one fumble and Josh Torres recovered the ball. Corbin Hardwick made nine
tackles with two being for losses. Solano had 11 tackles with one being for a
loss. Luis Franco made six tackles with four being for the losses.
The Mules will host the Brownfield Cubs Thursday, September 8, at 6:30
PM.
