Lady Mules @ District Track Meet (4-14&15)

The Lady Mules spent two afternoons on the Tulia Hornet eight-lane track in the District 2-3A Track Meet. The Lady Mules finished the meet Friday afternoon and just edged Friona out of fourth place with 72 points.

Shallowater won the meet with 228.5 points, Littlefield finished second with 131 points and Tulia was third with 75 points. Friona scored 71.5 points for fifth place and Dimmitt placed sixth with 38 points.

Twelve Lady Mules competed in the Area Meet back on the Tulia track Wednesday, April 20, in six events.

Conley Niblett got the Lady Mules off to a quick start by winning the gold medal in the high jump by clearing four foot 10 inches. Marilyn Melendez placed fifth with a leap of 4-6.

Lili Martinez ran a gold medal time of 13 minutes 21.91 second in the 3200-meter run. Noemi Herrera placed sixth in the 3200 with a time of 14:56.32.

Brianna Barron placed sixth in the pole vault by clearing 6-6. Keely Dunham placed sixth in the discus with a throw of 90-05.50. Sophie Reyna took sixth in the shot put with a toss of 30-06.75. 

The 4x100-meter relay team of Barron, Reina Regalado, Natali Elizalde and Jasmin Arellano placed sixth with a time of 55.06. Mireya Ruvalcaba placed fifth in the 800-meter run with a 2:47.88 and Blanca Ramirez was sixth with a time of 2:47.82.

Elizalde took sixth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.45. Ramirez, Arellano, Kyndal Miller and Ruvalcaba ran a bronze medal time of 1:55.44. Melendez won the bronze medal in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 55.35.

Miller placed fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.98. Martinez added a silver medal to her collection by placing second in the 1600-meter run with a time of 6:06.61.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Ramirez, Niblett, Miller and Ruvalcaba ran a bronze medal time of 4:28.72.

In the JV Girls Division Kayla Torres had a gold medal leap in the high jump of 4-04 and Maddison Price took the bronze medal with a height of 4-00.

Jennifer Cervantes ran a bronze medal time of 16:48.00 in the 3200-meter run and Taylor Cortez placed fourth with a 17:11.00. Lourdes Escalantos placed fourth in the shot put with a throw of 20-03.00 and Elizabet Villarreal took fifth with a heave of 22-04.25.

Jazmin Gutierrez was fourth  in the discus with a throw of 52-11.50. Gloria Gonzales finished fifth in the long jump with a leap of 12-06.00.

Dellany Martinez won the gold medal in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:48.00. Escalantos placed fourth in the 800 with a time of 3:02.00. Torres added a bronze medal to her collection by running a 20.07 in the 100-meter hurdles and Price finished sixth with a 21.32.

Kimberly Lopez placed fifth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 14.41 and Natalie Diaz finished sixth with a 14.58.

The 4x200-meter relay team of Melody Moran, Imelda Salcido, Gloria Gonzales and Dellany Martinez earned the bronze medal with a time of 2:02.82. Madison Hasley ran a bronze meddle time of 73.13 in the 400-meter dash.

Torres placed fourth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 60.39, Regalado finished fifth In the same race with a 63.32 and Price was sixth with a 64.07. Moran ran fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 31.08.

Escalantos took fourth in the 1600-meter run with a time of 7:00.33 and Torres placed sixth with a 7:31.11.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Lopez, Martinez, Gonzales, and Hasley ran a silver medal time of 4:50.11 in the final race of the day.
