JV Mules @ District Track Meet (4-5 & 6-2017)
The JV Mules placed fourth in the District 2-3A Track Meet held on the Lubbock Cooper High School track Tuesday and Wednesday.
Brayan Hernandez won the bronze medal in the first race of the day. He finished the 3200-meter run with a time of 12 minutes 39.22 seconds. Fed Rivas won the silver medal in the shot put with a toss of 35 feet and one-half inch.
Ean Hasley vaulted to the Mules first gold medal by soaring to a height of 10-06 in the pole vault. Isaac Mendoza leaped to the Mules second gold medal by clearing 5-08 in the high jump. Brady Martinez finished seventh in the triple jump with a combined distance of 35-08.50.
The 4x100-meter relay team of Matthew Alarcon, Sergio Solano, Martinez, and Ryan Rodriguez placed fifth with a time of 48.45. Ricky Diaz won the bronze medal in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:18.86.
Hasley won the silver medal in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.97. Kynton Haseloff finished seventh in the same event with a time of 19.33. Nick Dominguez placed sixth in the 100-dash with a time of 12.24.
The 4x200-meter relay team of Jesus Montiel, Mendoza, Ozzy Nunez, and Martinez finished fourth with a time of 1:41.72. Dominguez placed fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:01.48. Aaron Venzor placed eighth in the same event with a time of 1:04.28.
Montiel won the silver medal in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 46.95. Haseloff placed eighth in the same event with a time of 49.69. Martinez placed sixth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.12.
Diaz earned the silver medal in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:20.88. The 4x400-meter relay team of Alarcon, Montiel, Mendoza, and Nunez finished the meet in fifth place with a time of 3:59.31.
The JV Mules will now transition into off-season workouts.
