7th Lady Mules vs. Dimmitt (11-17-2014)
The seventh grade Lady Mules cruised to a
15-9 win over the Dimmitt Bobbies Monday evening in their home district opener.
Val Toscano got the Lady Mules going in the opening quarter.
Dimmitt led the game 3-2 after one
quarter.
Anahi Sandoval did all the damage for the
Lady Mules in the second quarter. She scored first on an inbound play and then
stuck back an offensive rebound. The Lady Mules trailed 7-6 at the
intermission.
The Lady Mules came out firing on all
cylinders in the third period and at the same time completely shut down the
Bobbies scoring. Destiny Vasquez scored from the elbow just 30 seconds into the
quarter.
Sandoval grabbed a defensive rebound and
drove coast-to-coast for a lay up. She later finished a fast break. Joceline
Ramirez took and inbound pass from Sandoval and scored. The Lady Mules had
pumped in nine points in the quarter to lead 15-7 to start the final
period.
Dimmitt scored the only hoop of the final
period.
Sandoval led the Lady Mules with eight
points. Vasquez added three points and Toscano and Ramirez chipped in two points
each.
The Lady Mules are on the road for the next
two games. They traveled to Littlefield November 24 and Friona December 1. They
will return home December 8 to play the Tulia Hornets.
