JV Mule Track @ Muleshoe (4-2-2015)
The JV Mules were a few points short and finished
second in the Mule Relays with 133 points. Denver City finished in front of the
Mules and Dimmitt, Littlefield, Brownfield, Olton and Friona came in after the
Mules.
Mikey Lozano and Issac Mendoza won the Mules’ first
medals of the day and tied for the silver medal in the high jump with identical
leaps of five feet and two inches. Jacob Kettner won the first race of the day
with a gold medal time of 12 minutes 31.62 seconds in the 3200-meter run.
Bryce Mauricio placed sixth in the long jump with a
leap of 16-11. Matt Flores earned the silver medal in the triple by hop, skip
and jumping 35-9.25. Lozano took sixth with a distance of 35-3.50.
The 4x100-meter relay team of Mauricio, Felipe
Guerrero, Jason Florez and Tim Perez won the Mules first gold medal with a time
of 46.44. Lozano earned the gold medal in the 800-meter run with a time of
2:24.46.
Mendoza, Mauricio, Florez and T. Perez teamed up for
the bronze medal in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 1:38.26. Guerrero
earned the bronze medal in the 400-meter dash with 57.78 and Javy Perez placed
sixth with a time of 56.68.
Dylan Miller won the bronze medal in the 300-meter
hurdles with a 47.34 and Flores was fifth with a 47.52. T. Perez won the silver
medal in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.90. Lozano and Kettner won the
gold and silver medals in the 1600-meter run with times of 5:32.59 and 5:34.36
respectively.
The 4x400-meter relay team of J. Perez, Mauricio,
Mendoza and Florez finished the meet with a silver medal in a time of 3:49.10.
The Mules are back on the track in Lamesa’s
Golden Tors Relays April 10. The Mules will help host the District 2-3A Track
Meet April 17
