MHS Golf (3-23-2015)
The Mule golf team hosted the first round of
District 2-3A boy’s golf tournaments Monday on their home course. The Lady
Mules traveled to Tulia for their first district tournament the same day.
Conner Harrison not only set the pace for the Mules
but for the rest of the district as well. He is the district medalist leader
with a first round total of 80 strokes. Tony Castillo finished the 18 holes
with a total of 112 strokes.
Jesse Leal shot a 125 in the first round and Dustin
Stearmer finished with 133 strokes.
The Mules are currently in fourth place as a team in
district competition. The Mules will play the second round of district April 6
on the Tulia golf course.
The Lady Mules fared better as a team on the Tulia
golf course and are in second place of the team competition.
Sadie Sudduth is in second place as an individual
medalist with a total of 101 strokes. Sydnie Sudduth finished in fifth place in
the individual competition with a round of 112 strokes. Miranda De Bruin
finished the day with a total of 122 strokes.
Emily Precure and Gabby Chavez both had rounds of 126.
The Lady Mules will host the second round of the
district completion April 6.
“Both teams have been spending quality time
practicing when the weather allowed,” said Muleshoe golf coach Carey Sudduth.
“Congratulations to all the golfers for a job well done.”
