Mule Track @ Mule Relays (4-2-2015)
The Mule track team place fourth in the Mule Relays
with a total score of 78 points. Dimmitt, Denver City and Brownfield finished
ahead of the Mules. Littlefield, Friona and Olton placed behind the Mules.
Jesse Leal took the gold medal in the first event of
the day. He cleared ten feet in the pole vault. The gun sounded for the first
race of the day and Evan Paez earned the silver medal in the 3200-meter race
with a time of 11 minutes and 11.50 seconds. Mario Flores finished fifth in the
same race with a time of 11.47:52.
Cesar Olivera had a gold medal heave of 47-10 in the
shot put. The 4x100-meter relay team of Tre Villa, Jesse Easily, Aaryn Ross and
Francisco Elizalde placed fourth with a time of 45.00 seconds. Christian Paez
earned the bronze medal in the 800-meter run with a 2:09.03.
The 4x200-meter relay team of Elizalde, Danny
Campos, Ross and Villa won the bronze medal with a time of 1:32.59. Campos
placed fourth in the 200-meter dash with a 25.53. E. Paez won his second silver
medal of the day in the 1600-meter run with a time of 55:01.24. Mario Flores placed
fifth in the 1600 with a 5:10.91.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Villa, Campos, Ross
and Oscar Huerta finished the final race of the day in fourth place with a time
of 3:36.02.
The Mules will compete in the Golden Tors’ Relays
Friday, April 10 in Lamesa. The District 2-3A Meet is scheduled for Muleshoe
April 17.
