JV Mules Track @ Dimmitt (3-27-2015)
The JV Mules won the Dimmitt Bobcat Relays with 181
points Friday afternoon. Dimmitt, Hale Center, Highland Park and Friona
finished behind the Mules.
Mike Lozano and Isaac Mendoza won the silver and
bronze medals respectively in the high jump. Lozano had a leap of five feet
four inches and Mendoza cleared 5-02.00. Jesse Leal won the Mules first gold
medal by clearing 11-00.00 in the pole vault. Joe Waggoner won the bronze medal
with a height of 8-00.00.
Matt Flores had a silver medal leap of 16-10.50 in
the long jump and Bryce Mauricio placed fifth with a distance of 16-02.50. Flores
brought home the bronze medal in the triple jump with a distance of 35-04.75
and Lozano placed fourth with a 35-04.50.
Fidel Mendoza placed fifth in the discus with a
throw of 81-05.00.
The 4x100-meter relay team of Mauricio, Felipe
Guerrero, Jason Florez and Time Perez ran a gold medal time of 46.60 seconds.
Lozano ran a gold medal time of two minutes 21.20 seconds in the 800-meter run
and Jacob Kettner finished fourth with a time of 2:25.74.
Waggoner captured the silver medal in the 110-meter
hurdles with a 19.07. Javy Perez finished sixth in the 100-meter dash with a
12.88. The 4x200-meter relay team of Mendoza, Maurico, Florez and T. Perez ran
a gold medal time of 1:38.69.
J. Perez took the bronze medal in the 400-meter dash
with a time of 58.66.00. Waggoner brought home the bronze medal in the
300-meter hurdles with a time of 47.02 and Flores was fourth with a 47.71.
Guerrero led the Mule parade in the 200-meter dash
with a gold medal time of 24.73. T. Perez earned the silver medal with a 24.77
and J. Perez finished sixth with a 26.29. Kettner ran a silver medal time of
5:38.77 in the 1600-meter run and Lozano won the bronze medal with a 55:55.38.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Guerrero, Mauricio,
Mendoza and Florez won the silver medal to cinch the team gold in the meet.
The Mules will host the Mule Relays April 2 and
travel to Lamesa April 10. The District Meet will be held in Muleshoe April 17.
