9th Mules in Dimmitt Tourny (1-24&25)
The freshmen Mules finished third in the Dimmitt Tournament January 24 and
25. The Mules defeated Abernathy in the opening round 43-18. The Mules fell to
Littlefield in the second game 41-35. Tulia proved to be no match for the Mules
as they took the game 55-32. The Mules defeated Shallowater in the finals 37-14
for third place.
Beto Diaz pumped in 16 points against Abernathy and Boo Flores added nine
points. Blake Parker dropped in five points and Aaron Ross scored three points.
Jessie Leal, Mario DeHoyas, Jaxon Lee, Tim Perez and Reese Orozco made two
points each.
Diaz again led the Mules with 15 points in a losing effort against
Littlefield. Flores added 11 points and Donovan Gutierrez made five points. Javy
Perez and Leal chipped in two points each.
Diaz had the hot hand against Tulia as he scored 20 points. J Perez added
nine points and Parker and DeHoyas dropped in five points each. Leal and Noah
Nikkel made four points each. Orozco finished with three points and Ross and Lee
had two points each. Gutierrez chipped in a point.
Diaz made it a clean sweep by leading the Mules against Shallowater with 15
points. Gutierrez added eight points and Ross dropped in six. Orozco had three
points and Eric Herrera and Lee made two points each. Parker finished with one
point.
