Lady Mules vs. Olton & Dimmitt (1-21 & 24)

The Lady Mules dropped both games this past week to fall to a record of 2-7 in district. The Lady Mules could only muster two points in the first period against Olton. The Fillies defeated the Lady Mules 44-38. 

The Dimmitt Bobbies visited the Lady Mules on Friday night and demonstrated why they are leading the district with a record of 9-1. The Bobbies utilized their size and strength to defeat the Lady Mules 51-41.

Daniela Diaz scored the only basket in the first period one minute into the game in Olton. She beat the defense down the floor on a fast break. The Fillies made back-to-back 3-pointers to lead the Lady Mules 6-2 after one period. 

McKenna Dunham made a turn-around jump-shot two and a half minutes into the second period. Rempe passed Dunham the ball from the free throw line for the assist. Diaz had a three point opportunity but failed to convert the free throw but later in the period she made a pair of free throws when she was fouled while shooting. 

Adrienne Precure shot from the elbow to briefly put the Lady Mules in front 10-9. Sadie Sudduth made a 15-foot base line jump shot. Olton went ahead of the Lady Mules and led 17-12 at the intermission. 

The Lady Mules chipped one point off the Fillies lead in the third quarter. Diaz made one free throw to start the third period. Precure made back-to-back passes to Dunham on the blocks. Dunham scored twice and Precure got the assist. Precure made a hoop to tie the score at 19-19. 

But Olton made a trey and a free throw to go up 23-19 by the time the quarter ended. 

The Lady Mules scored as many points in the final quarter as they had in the first 24 minutes. Sadie Sudduth got the rally started with a 3-pointer from the wing. She later put the Lady Mules on top 28-27 with a hoop. She added two more baskets before the game ended. 

Rempe picked up another assist by make a lob pass to Dunham behind the defense for an easy shot. Dunham added a second hoop and a free throw before the game ended. Precure grabbed a long rebound and drove the floor for a lay up. She did the same later in the period to give the Lady Mules a 33-32 lead. 

Olton made all 12 free throws in the final period to out score the Lady Mules 21-19 for the win. 

Sa Sudduth and Dunham led the Lady Mules in scoring with 11 points apiece. Precure added nine points and Diaz dropped in seven. 

The Dimmitt Bobbies held the Lady Mules scoreless until the 3:15 mark of the first period when Reagan Reynolds put back an offensive rebound. Diaz made two free throws and Dunham completed an old-fashion three-point play by battling her way through a foul and making the basket. She converted the free throw. The lady Mules trailed 15-7 after one quarter.

Sa Sudduth got the second period started for the Lady Mules with 3-pointer from the corner with seven minutes left in the first half. Sa Sudduth made a second trey with 39 seconds left in the half. 

Shanice Rosas muscled through a foul for a basket but missed the free throw. Dunham made two free throws and Precure and Reynolds each converted one free throw. The Lady Mules trailed 24-19 at the half. 

Precure made the first Lady Mule basket of the third period. She added a pair of free throws and a hoop before the quarter ended. Rosas cleared the offensive boards and put back the rebound for a basket. She converted the free throw after being fouled shooting. Dimmitt increased their lead to 37-28 with eight minutes left to play. 

Sydnie Sudduth made both ends of a one-and-bonus foul with 4:10 left in the game to open the final period for the Lady Mules. Sy Sudduth repeated her feat and then drained a 3-pointer before the game ended. 

Sa Sudduth took a pass from Diaz and converted it to points. Rosas had one basket in the period. Dimmitt scored fourteen points in final quarter and made 10 of 13 free throws in the final period. 

Precure led the Lady Mules with nine points and Sa Sudduth added eight points. Sy Sudduth made all seven of her points in the final quarter and Rosas also scored seven points. Dunham dropped in five points, Reynolds had three points and Diaz chipped in two.

The Lady Mules traveled to Littlefield Tuesday night to play the Lady Cats and will return home for the last time to host the Tulia Hornets. The Lady Mules will play one last game on the road in Abernathy February 4.
