8th Mules vs. River Road (10-13-2016)
The eighth-grade Mules improved their season record to 4-2 with a
32-6 win over the River Road Wildcats. The Mules had made the long trip
to Amarillo River Road Thursday evening.
Joe Gutierrez led the Mules in rushing by running for 123 yards. He
scored touchdowns on runs of 65 and 58 yards as well as returned a punt
55 yards for a touchdown. Joey Martinez accumulated 39 yards rushing
and scored on a run of 30 yards and returned
an interception for a touchdown.
Gutierrez and Elias Aguirre led the Mules on defense with four
tackles each. Aguirre and Benjamin Ramirez recovered a fumble each and
Gutierrez made an interception. Jacob Rodriguez forced a fumble.
The Mules will host the Friona Braves Thursday afternoon. Kickoff
will be immediately after the seventh-grade Mules finish their game.
There is no B-Team Mule game this week.
