JV Mule Track @ Mule Relays (3-3-2017)
The JV Mules placed fourth in the Mule Relays with 95 points. Idalou won the meet with 146 points, Shallowater finished second with 116.5 points, and Slaton finished third with 112 points. Littlefield placed fifth with 62.5 points, Dimmitt was sixth with 52 points, and Post was seventh with 32 points.
Brayan Hernandez placed sixth in the 3200-meter run with a time of 12 minutes 44.24 seconds. Fernando Rivas made a gold medal heave in the shot put of 37 feet one inch. Isaac Carreaga placed fifth in the shot with a toss of 33-03.
Ozzy Nunez made a fifth-place leap in the long jump of 16-09.50. Martinez placed fourth in the triple jump with a total distance of 37-02.
Isaac Mendoza made a gold medal high jump of 5-6. Ean Hasley followed him with a gold medal vault of 10-0 in the pole vault.
The Mule 4x100-meter relay team of Matthew Alarcon, Brady Martinez, Sergio Solano, and Ryan Rodriguez placed fifth with a time of 47.56. Ricky Diaz placed fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:23.03. Hasley took sixth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 19.21.
Alarcon and Rodriguez ran silver and bronze medal times respectively in the 100-meter dash. Alarcon finished with a time of 12.06 and Rodriguez ran a 12.12. The 4x200-meter relay team of Mendoza, Nunez, Solano, and Martinez placed sixth with a time of 1:42.91.
Hasley ran a bronze medal time in the 300-meter hurdles of 48.65. Rodriguez and Martinez finished fourth and fifth respectively in the 200-meter dash. Rodriguez ran a time of 25.59 and Martinez was a step behind with a time of 26.00.
Ricky Diaz won the silver medal in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:27.40. Aaron Venzor, Mendoza, Nick Dominguez, and Nunez teamed up in the final race of the day for the bronze medal in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:56.44.
The Mules will run in the Shallowater Relays Thursday, March 9.
