7^th & 8^th Mules vs. Shallowater (12-14-2015)

The seventh and eighth grade Mules struggled Monday evening when they hosted the Shallowater Mustangs. The seventh grade fell victim to the Mustangs 44-6 and the eighth grade Mules faired some better but lost 50-36.

The seventh grade Mules failed to score in the first half and trailed 25-0 at the intermission with the Mustangs continuing to run a full court press. Things changed little in the third period but the Mustangs finally fell back on defense and the Mules scored two hoops.

Jacob Toscano and Kurt Rodriguez scored a hoop each and Joey Martinez and Mario Guardado chipped in a free throw each.

The eighth grade Mules hung close in the opening period and trailed 13-9 but failed to score in the second frame and fell behind 25-9 by the intermission.

Damian Juarez led the Mules with nine points and Jacob Barron finished with four points. Nathan Rodriguez added three points. Kelan Florez, Matthew Alarcon, Jimmy Villa, Jose Cardenas and Eddie Vasquez chipped in two points each.

The Mules are currently on Christmas break but will return to action January 4 in Dimmitt against the Bobcats. The Mules will play in the Levelland Tournament January 7-9 and return home January 11 to ho
