Lady Mules vs. Hale Center (12-1-2015)

The Hale Center Owls sank a 3-pointer to open the game against the Lady Mules Tuesday night. Conley Niblett scored a pair of hoops to put the Lady Mules in front to stay with 5:45 remaining in the first period. The Lady Mules cruised to a 49-25 win.

Emily Precure sank a trey from the wing and Niblett drove the baseline for a hoop. Sydnie Sudduth nailed a 3-pointer from the wing to end the first period with the Lady Mules leading 12-8.

The Owls made a pair of free throws to cut the Lady Mule lead to two-points to start the second quarter. Sadie Sudduth hit from the elbow and Yvonne Diaz drove the baseline for her first hoop of the basketball season.

Sy. Sudduth drained her second trey of the night from the corner in the midst of a 17-point run that locked up the game for the Lady Mules. Sa. Sudduth completed a three-point play by fighting through a foul for a lay up and then added the free throw.

Niblett scored from the baseline and Desi Gutierrez hit from 18-feet out on the baseline. Brittney Mendoza sank a 3-pointer from the wing to end the half with the Lady Mules leading 29-10.

The Lady Mules seem to cool down during the intermission and only scored five points in the third period. Sa. Sudduth finished a fast break and Sy, Sudduth made a steal in the back court and drove the floor for a hoop. Diaz made a free throw to keep the Lady Mules in front 34-18 with one period left to play.

Niblett caught fire in the final eight minutes for seven points. She scored in the paint to start the period. Reagan Reynolds made a free throw and then score down low for a 39-22 Lady Mule lead with 5:15 left in the game.

Niblett made a spin move in the paint to score a hoop. Niblett set up on the free throw line and made back-to-back passes to Diaz on the blocks for a pair of baskets.

Niblett set the scoring pace with 15 points and Sa. Sudduth added nine points. Diaz finished with seven points and Sy. Sudduth had a pair of treys for six points. Reynolds, Precure, Gutierrez and Mendoza finished with three points each.

The Lady Mules hosted the Floydada Lady Winds Tuesday night and play in the Abernathy Shootout December 10-12.
