8th Mules Track @ Littlefield (3-3-2016)

The eighth grade Mules won their first track meet they entered in 2016. The Mules scored 173.5 points to win the Littlefield Invitational Meet Thursday. Shallowater was second with 119.5 points and Idalou and Levelland tied for third with 110.5 points. Littlefield was fifth with 62 points and Brownfield placed sixth with 43 points.

Eddie Vasquez won the silver medal in the shot put with a throw of thirty-seven feet nine inches. Nathan Rodriguez earned the bronze medal with a throw of 36-11 and Fernando Rivas placed fifth with a throw of 35-11.

Hector Arras won the pole vault with a height of 9-00 and Jesus Montiel earned the silver medal with a height of 9-00. Aaron Venzor took the bronze medal in the high jump with a leap of 5-00. Jose Cardenas placed sixth in the triple jump with a hop, skip and jump of 32-02.5.

Jimmy Villa won the gold medal in the 2400-meter run with a time of eight minutes of 51.96 seconds. The 400-meter relay team of Matthew Alarcon, Damian Juarez, Hector Arras and Jose Cardenas earned the bronze medal in a time of 49.79.

Ricky Diaz ran a gold medal time of 2:21.27 in the 800-meter run and Carter McCamish won the bronze medal in a time of 2:33.00. Kynton Haseloff had a silver medal time of 19.55 in the 110-meter hurdles.

Matthew Alarcon earned the bronze medal in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.67 and Jose Cardenas placed sixth with a time of 13.08. Aaron Venzor, Jacob Barron, Osvaldo Nunez and Cristian Bustillos ran a bronze medal time of 1:47.95 in the 800-meter relay.

Damian Juarez won the silver medal in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.16 and Jacob Barron placed fourth with a time of 1:02.25. Jesus Montiel won the gold medal in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 48.77. Kynton Haseloff placed fifth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 53.60.

Osvaldo Nunez had a bronze medal time of 27.02 in the 200-meter dash and Elio Sanchez placed fifth with a time of 27.22.

Ricky Diaz ran a gold medal time of 5:31.96 in the 1600-meter run. Jimmy Villa was close behind him for the silver medal with a time of 5:46.35 and Carter McCamish took the bronze medal with a time of 5:51.66.

The 1600-meter relay team of Damian Juarez, Jesus Montiel, Elio Sanchez and Jacob Barron earned the bronze medal with a time of 4:07.94.

The Mules traveled to Levelland March 8 and will run in Dimmitt March 22.
