7th Lady Mules vs. Dimmitt (11-21-2016)
 
The 3-0 seventh-grade Lady Mules set a torrid pace Monday against the Dimmitt Bobbies. Utilizing a full-court pressing defense and fast break offense the Lady Mules jumped out to a 6-0 lead with just 45 seconds off the clock and the Bobbies were calling timeout.
 
The Lady Mules pressed only during the first period but had built an 18-0 lead. To be precise, the first Bobbie basket did not fall until just four seconds were remaining in the first half. The Lady Mules downed the Bobbies 37-6.
 
Page Parker set the scoring pace for the Lady Mules with 14 points. Natalie Ambriz finished the game with nine points. Makayla Toscano dropped in six points, and Kayla Soto scored her four points in the final period. Alina Elizaraz and Kyla Sierra chipped in two points each.
 
“We jumped out to an 18-point lead during the first period,” said Lady Mule coach Stephanie Lowery. “The girls came out aggressive and ready to play. I am proud of their improvement, and I am excited to see what the rest of the season brings.” 
 
“Once again tough defense led to many fast break points in the paint. Paige Parker made eight steals and Kylee Villa finished with seven steals.”
 
The seventh B-Team Lady Mules claimed their first win of the season Monday against the Dimmitt Bobbies. The Lady Mules led 9-0 by the intermission and downed the Bobbies 22-15.
 
Ava Miller led the Lady Mules with six points.
 
“We finally got a win,” continued Coach Lowery. The girls looked more confident out there than they have all year. They hustled on defense and got several steals.”
 
The Lady Mules hosted the Slaton Tigerettes Monday and will play in the Lamesa Tournament December first and third. The Lady Mules will host the Friona Maidens December 5.
