8th Mules vs Shallowater (11-3-2016)
The eighth-grade Mules have had trouble making the two-point conversion after making a touchdown. That did not change Thursday evening when the Mules traveled to Shallowater to play the Colts.
The Mules wrapped up the season with a record at 5-4 following a 16-12 defeat by Shallowater.
Joe Gutierrez led the Mules with 53 yards rushing. Joey Martinez
followed with 44 yards rushing. He scored on a five-yard run. Mario
Guardado ran for 20 yards.
Joey Martinez made receptions for 113 yards. Riley Kettner had
catches for 30 yards. Mario Guardado caught one pass for 10 yards and
scored a touchdown.
Joey Martinez made eight tackles to lead the Mule defense. Elias
Aguirre and Eli Macias had four tackles each. Joe Gutierrez picked off a
Shallowater pass.
The Mules will now start basketball practice and start preparing for the season.
