7th B Lady Mules vs.
Friona (2-8-2016)
The seventh grade B-team Lady
Mules successfully wrapped up their 9-2 basketball season Monday evening. The
Lady Mules shut out the Friona Maidens in the first half and cruised to a 19-5
win.
“These 24 girls really have
been a great team this year,” said Lady Mule coach Jalissa King. “They have
worked hard and have fundamentally improved this year.”
Aliyah Regalado scored twice
in the opening period. Priscilla Medina chipped in a free throw to give the
Lady Mules a 5-0 lead after one quarter.
Medina finished a fast break
in the second period and Haleigh Wolfe scored to extend the Lady Mule lead 9-0
at the half.
The Lady Mule scoring picked
up after the intermission with Kristen Pope scoring from near the elbow.
Jessica Olivas completed a fast break and Wolf put back an offensive rebound.
Medina drove the lane for a lay up as the Lady Mules opened a 17-2 lead.
Alondra Nunez scored the Lady
Mules only basket of the final period.
The Lady Mules will change
their focus to track and field events.
