7th Lady Mules vs. Littlefield (2-1-2016)
The seventh grade Lady Mules shut out the Littlefield Lady Cats 10-0 in the opening period Monday afternoon. The Lady Mules held the Cats to just two points in the second and third periods for a 29-4 win.
Kristina Arzola got the Lady Mules started with a short jumper. Anahi Barrera added a put back. Arzola scored again just over two minutes into the game. Barrera had back-to-back coast-to-coast drives after Littlefield turned the ball over to finish the quarter with the Lady Mules leading 10-0.
Arzola scored with an eight foot jumper early in the second period. Barrera chipped in a free throw and a minute later stole the ball and drove the floor for a hoop. The Lady Cats scored with just over a minute left in the first half. Arzola ended the half with a 14-foot baseline jump shot. The Lady Mules led 17-2 at the intermission.
Daniella Moran kicked off the second half for the Lady Mules with a basket and Tatum Hasley added a hoop with a short jumper. Barrera scored with three minutes left in the third quarter to end the third period with the Lady Mules leading 23-4.
Moran started the final period with 16-foot basket from the baseline. Katelyn Kelley put back an offensive rebound to end all scoring.
Barrera set the scoring pace with 11 points and Arzola finished with eight points. Moran and Hasley added four points each and Kelley chipped in two points.
The Lady Mules closed out their season Monday night at home against the Friona Maidens.
