MHS Track @ Brownfield (4-4-14)

The Lady Mule, Mule and JV Mule track teams final tune-up meet was the Cub Relays in Brownfield Friday. Several athletes were held out of the meet to allow some slight injuries to heal as well as some illness that had struck the teams. 

The Lady Mules participated in no field events and only four running events. Jackie Rayas placed fifth in the 3200-meter run with a time of 13 minutes and 27.87 seconds. 

Mireya Ruvulcaba ran a silver medal time of 1:05.31 in the 400-meter dash. She also placed fifth in the 800-meter run with a 2:40.20. Miranda Acevedo finished fourth in the 1600-meter run with a time of 6:10.08.

Mario Flores placed sixth in the 3200-meter run with an 11:40.66. The 4x200-meter relay team of Francisco Elizalde, Jesus Manzanares, Aaron Ross and Matthew Barron also finished sixth with a time of 1:38.45.

Barron ran a silver medal time of 24.21 in the 200-meter dash. 

The JV Mule team was a bit more complete than the Lady Mules or Mules. 

Jesse Easily placed fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 35 feet six and half inches. Tre Villa, Easily, Jorge Martinez and Tim Perez finished fourth with a time of 47.46 in the 4x100-meter relay. Dillon Miller placed fourth in the 110-meter hurdles with a 19.27. 

Martinez and Villa ran bronze and fourth place times of 12.41 and 12.61 respectively in the 100-meter dash. The 4x200-meter relay team of Easily, Martinez, T. Perez and Jason Florez finished fifth with a time of 1:40.25. 

JJ Gandara and Javy Perez won the silver and bronze medals in the 400-meter dash with times of 57.82 and 59.14 respectively. T. Perez took the bronze medal with a time of 25.42 in the 200-meter dash. 

The 4x400-meter relay team of Villa, Easily, Gandara and Danny Campos won the gold medal with a time of 3:45.80.

The District Meet will be held in Dimmitt April 11. An Area Meet has been added to schedule before the Region I Meet. The Area Meet will be held in Panhandle April 18 and those that qualify move on to the Region I Meet in Odessa April 25 and 26. The Texas State Meet is in Austin will be held May 9 and 10.
