Lady Mules vs. Borger (3-18-2017)

Saturday proved to be a long day for the Lady Mules as they fell to the Borger Lady Dogs 16-5. Borger blasted three home runs in the game.

Borger scored two runs in the top of the first inning. A hit batsman, a double, and an error sent two runs across the plate.

Mireya Ruvalcaba led off with a single to left field in the Lady Mule’s half of the inning. Crystal Flores reached on an error by the pitcher. Ahtziri Elizalde singled to right field to score both Ruvalcaba and Flores to tie the game at 2-2.

The Lady Dogs took the lead for good in the top of the second inning by scoring four runs on a single, a walk, and three triples. Borger led 6-2 after an inning and a half.

The Lady Mules scored once in the bottom of the third inning. Dellany Martinez drew a walk and Elizalde sent her home with a triple off the wall in center field.

The Lady Mules final run of the game was a two-out walk to Madison Hasley. A double off the wall in left field by Ruvalcaba plated the run.

The Lady Mules traveled to Idalou Tuesday to meet the Lady Cats and open the two team's District 2-3A opener. The Lady Mules return home Saturday to host the Littlefield Lady Cats at noon.
