The Muleshoe Mules ran away with the Olton Winter Relays to open the 2017 track season. The Mules won the meet with 235 points. Friona placed second with 102 points, Bovina was third with 101 points, Ralls placed fourth with 55 points, Olton took fifth with 29 points, and Farwell finished sixth with 13 points.
 
Eduardo Pantoja, Jacob Kettner, and Ethan Gonzales got the Mules off to a fast start by finishing first, third, and fifth in the 3200-meter run respectively. Pantoja earned the gold medal with a time of eleven minutes 09.96 seconds.
 
Kettner won the bronze medal with a time of 11:42.36 and Gonzales placed fifth with a time of 11;56.72.
 
Leonel Camarena won the silver medal in the shot put with a heave of 45 feet and ten inches. Julian Astorga took the silver medal in the discus with a toss of 96-10. Romeo Reyes placed fourth in the long jump with a leap of 18-4. Yoel Reyes finished sixth with a jump of 17-6.
 
Brady Martinez and Luke Del Toro won the gold and silver medals respectively in the triple jump. Martinez hopped, skipped and jumped a total of 33-1.25. Del Toro had a total distance of 33-2.25.
 
Michael Lozano cleared 5-8 for the gold medal in the high jump. Jorge Albarran won the silver medal by also making 5-8. Jesus Montiel vaulted to the gold medal with a height of 11-0. Ean Hasley won the silver medal with a height of 10-06.
 
The Mule 4x100-meter relay team won the gold medal with a time of 46.51. Lozano finished the 800-meter run in a silver medal time of 2:10.28. Hasley won the gold medal in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 20.18.
 
Justin Carrion won the gold medal in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.56. Martinez placed sixth in the same event with a time of 11.93. The Mule 4x200-meter relay team ran a gold medal time of 1:34.79.
 
Del Toro placed fourth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.30. Jesus Montiel and Hasley won the silver and bronze medals in the 300-meter hurdles respectively. Montiel ran a silver medal time of 47.23. Hasley finished with a time of 56.02.
 
Yoel Reyes ran a gold medal time of 23.18 in the 200-meter dash. Albarran placed sixth in the same event with a time of 24.69. Pantoja, Kettner, and Gonzales won the silver, and bronze medals, and fourth place respectively in the 1600-meter run.
 
Pantoja ran a silver medal time of 5:15.31. Kettner took the bronze medal with a time of 5:20.26. Gonzalez placed fourth with a time of 5:23.13. In the final race of the day, the Mule 4x400-meter relay team ran a gold medal time of 3:43.88.
