Erika Arzola and Brianna Barron qualified to compete in the 2017 Girls Region I Division 3 Powerlifting Meet. Regional qualifiers must be ranked in the top 12 of their weight class to compete at this meet. The date of the meet will be announced at a later time.
 
The Lady Mules final competition was held in Seagraves, and Arzola earned the silver medal in the 165-pound weight class with a total weight of 685 pounds. She made a squat lift of 255 pounds, bench pressed 140 pounds and had a deadlift of 290 pounds.
 
Barron took the fourth place medal in the 114-pound weight class. She squat lifted 240 pounds, bench pressed 95 pounds and made a deadlift of 250 pounds for a total weight of 585 pounds.
 
Valaria Carreaga placed sixth in the 132-pound class. She made a squat lift of 225 pounds, bench pressed 105 pounds and deadlifted 225 pounds for a total of 555 pounds.
Gloria Gonzalez placed eighth in the 132-pound class with a squat lift of 215 pounds, bench pressed 95 pounds and deadlifted 215 pounds for a total of 525 pounds. 
 
Nikole Quezada was seventh in the 165-pound class with a total of 575 pounds. She made a squat lift of 225 pounds, bench pressed 115 pounds and deadlifted 235 pounds.
 
The Mules final meet was in Bovina, and Rudy Ruiz placed fourth in the 242-pound weight class with a total of 960 pounds. He made a squat lift of 365 pounds, bench pressed 205 and made a deadlift of 390 pounds.
 
Justin Carrion competed in the 148-pound weight class. He made a squat lift of 250 pounds, bench pressed 165 pounds and deadlifted 365 pounds for a total weight of 780 pounds. 
 
Jamie Ceja lifted in the 181-pound weight class. He squat lifted 315 pounds, bench pressed 190 pounds and made a deadlift of 350 pounds for a total weight of 855 pounds.
 
“Our lifters competed well all season and broke many of their personal records along the way,” said Muleshoe powerlifting coach, Albert Lopez. “Those that qualified for the regional meets will continue to train.”
