JV Mule Track @ Tulia (3-7-14)
The JV Mules had a strong showing at the Tulia Hornet Track Meet Friday.
The Mules won the team silver from a 10 team field. Shallowater won the meet.
Littlefield, Dimmitt, Childress Panhandle, River Road, Friona, Tulia and Valley
all finished behind the Mules in that order.
Isaac Luebanos won the Mules first medal of the day in the discus with a
bronze medal throw of 93 feet and eleven inches. Javy Perez cleared 5-2 in the
high jump for fourth place and Matthew Flores leaped 16-11 in the long jump for
fifth place.
Aaron Ross won the Mules first gold medal in the 200-meter dash with a time
of 24.60 seconds. Ross earned a bronze medal in the 800-meter run with a time of
2:18.91. Matthew Flores had a silver medal time of 46.93 in the 300-meter
hurdles and Dillon Miller was four with a 48.05.
Miller ran a bronze medal time of 19.58 in the 110-meter hurdles. Tim Perez
finished fifth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.90. J Perez finished
sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:01.63.
The 4x100-meter relay team of Evan Paez, Jesse Easily, J Perez and T Perez
finished fourth with a time of 48.61. Paez, Easily, Flores and Ross ran a silver
medal time in the 4x200-meter relay of 1.42.43.
Paez, J Perez, Easily and Flores teamed up in the 4x400-meter relay for a
bronze medal with a time of 3:59.87.
The Mules will host the Mule Relays March 21.
