Lady Mule Track @ Tulia (3-7-14)
The Lady Mules earned the bronze team medal at the Tulia Hornet
Invitational Track Meet Friday. Out of the 10 teams competing in the meet only
Panhandle and Shallowater finished ahead of the Lady Mules. Tulia, Littlefield,
River Road, Valley, Friona, Dimmitt and Childress finished in that order.
Adrienne Precure won both a gold and silver medal in the field events to
put the Lady Mules near the top very early in the meet. Precure won the gold
medal in the pole vault with a winning height of nine feet even. She followed
that with a silver medal in the high jump by clearing the bar at five
feet.
Daniela Diaz earned a bronze medal in the long jump with a leap of
14-11.75. Jasmine Garza kept the medals coming with a bronze medal in the first
race of the day. She finished the 3200-meter run in a time of 14 minutes 18.26
seconds.
Precure added to her medal collection with a pair of silver medals in the
hurdle competition. She ran a time of 16.06 in the 100-meter hurdles and 47.43
in the 300-meter hurdles.
Diaz finished fourth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.73. Mireya
Ruvalcaba ran a silver medal time of 1.08.43 in the 400-meter dash. The
4x200-meter relay team of Reagan Reynolds, Aimee Rosas, Diaz and Jazmin Arellano
finished fourth with a time of 1:58.25.
Noemi Herrera placed fourth in the 800-meter run with a 2:46.11. Keidi
Salas and Blanca Ramirez finished fifth and sixth in the 1600-meter run with
times of 6:27.88 and 6:32.24 respectively.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Herrera, Rosas, Arellano and Precure had a
bronze medal time of 4:35.99.
The Lady Mules will take the Spring Break holiday before returning to the
track to host the Mule relays March 21.
