8th Grade Lady Mules Track @ Tulia (3-6-14)
The eighth grade Lady Mules had a bronze medal performance at the Hornet
Relays in Tulia. Shallowater and Idalou finished ahead of the Lady Mules in the
11 team event. Tulia, Childress, Panhandle, Littlefield, Dimmitt, Friona,
Lubbock Trinity and Valley trailed the Lady Mules in that order.
Conley Niblett earned two silver medals in the field events. She had a
silver medal leap in the long jump of thirteen feet six and a quarter inches.
She followed that with a silver medal jump of 4-8 in the high jump. Brianna
Barron also won a silver medal in the field events with a vault of 5-6.
Jennifer Orozco placed fifth in the 2400-meter run with a time of eleven
minutes 9.23 seconds. Nancy Martinez won a silver medal in the 400-meter dash
with a time of 1:52.19.
The 4x100-meter relay team of Kim Lopez, Mel Moran, Rossy Diaz and Barron
ran a bronze medal time of 58.73. Cassidy Cage ran a bronze medal time of
5:00.42 in the 800-meter run. Yvonne Diaz placed fifth with a time of
5:01.02.
Barron, Niblett, Mel Moran and Alexis Campos placed fourth in the
4x200-meter relay with a time of 3:25.78. Barron, Niblett, Martinez and Diaz ran
a time of 8:21.58 and placed fourth in the 4x400-meter run.
The Lady Mules are off for Spring Break but will host the Mule Relays March
20.
