Girls Basketball All-Dst 2-AA (2-20-14)

Adrienne Precure, a Lady Mule senior, was chosen by the District 2-AA girl coaches to the 2013-2014 All-District Team. She led the Lady Mules in scoring with 268 points of which 42 were 3-pointers. Precure gathered in 12 offensive rebounds and 49 defensive rebounds for a total of 61.
She dished off the ball 54 times to teammates for a better shots. Precure stole the ball 46 times in the Lady Mules 28 game schedule.
"Last year the Lady Mules were a young team that battled every team and gained a great deal of confidence and experience,” said Lady Mule coach Jay Gorman. “Next the unthinkable happens. Three returning starters move off to other towns.”
“What was shaping up to be a title contending season this year turned into us having another very young team, even younger than last year. With all of our adversity this year, I was so proud of the way our kids played.”
“We were in most games and got some wins. We battled hard and never quit. We played with class every step of the way. We had a chance to make the playoffs going into the last game. Our three seniors really improved this year and showed great leadership.”
“Our freshmen grew up right I'm front of our eyes. Our two juniors showed they are ready to step up next year and be the leaders of this team. The future is bright for Lady Mules Basketball! I truly believe they'll turn the corner next year."
McKenna Dunham, also a Lady Mule senior, and Sadie Sudduth, a Lady Mule freshman, were named as Honorable Mentions to the All-District Team.
Dunham scored a total of 210 points during the season. She led the Lady Mules in rebounding by pulling down 57 offensive rebounds and 86 defensive rebounds for a total of 153 rebounds. Dunham also had 12 assists and 26 steals during the season.
Sudduth scored 109 points in her first year on varsity with 39 being from behind the 3-point arc. She led the Lady Mules in made free throw percentage by shooting 71 percent from the charity line. Sudduth grabbed 12 offensive rebounds and 49 defensive rebounds for a total of 61. She made 38 assists, 26 steals and recorded two blocked shots.
