7th Lady Mules vs.
Slaton (12-17-2017)
The seventh-grade Lady Mules
traveled to Slaton to battle the Tigerettes. The Lady Mules held Slaton
scoreless in the first and third periods. The Lady Mules trapping defense only
gave up six points during the contest while the offense poured in 34 points for
the win.
Araceli Diaz paced the Lady
Mules with eight points. Raelee Garza and Kendra Kelley dropped in six points
each in the win.
Lady Mule coach, Jalissa
King, said after the game, “This team has really come together as a team and
grown in their basketball IQ. Tonight I saw several things manifest that we
have been working on during practice.”
“Nautica Mills had three
assists, and Aaliyah Sanchez made three steals. This was a wonderful way to end
the first semester.”
The seventh-grade B-team Lady
Mules scurried to a 15-8 win over Slaton. The Lady Mules held Slaton scoreless
during the first half and led Slaton 5-0 at the half.
Naomi Muniz and Gimena
Ramirez paced the Lady Mules with four points each.
“This was a really good game
for this team,” continued Coach King. “They have really improved at becoming
organize and controlled players.”
The Lady Mules are on
Christmas break. The Lady Mules will return to action January 8 in Littlefield
to start the second round of district against the Lady Cats. The Lady Mules will
play in the Levelland Tournament January 11 and 13 and will host Idalou January
15.
